There are so many lovely plants available this year at all the local stores and nurseries, I can’t stand it! I miss my garden of many years ago. I. Want. To. PLANT! I miss befriending beetles and earthworms and knowing the ground and what lies beneath. Starting out timid and fearful of all the creepy crawlies about only to work tilling the earth, distributing plants and seeds here and there, to all at once look up and find all reservation having dissipated. A oneness and commonality having settled in when I wasn’t looking. I’m a big fan of grasses in years past, due likely to their Muppety likeness. These black bladed plants in particular pair nicely with brightly colored florals. Wouldn’t have guessed their name, Mondo Grass. ♦
That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout! Deeetails. Firsts. Was over at Bean’s and itchin’ to show her this clip with a desperate request for the album come Christmas (insert guffaw of absurdity) cuz I didn’t jump on it quickly enough. She goes into her library down the hall for a bit, and returns with news that she’s tried buying us each an album (how quickly the lust spreads), but they weren’t available at the moment. She’s managed to buy us tickets to see him in August though. Sprightly tears! Caught a longish interview betwixt him and Conan (O’ Brien), and teared up multiple times as Jack described certain thoughts in the creative process in the most relatable of ways. ♦
