Cozy

“Mister”

Just me and the nut hangin’ in the back row of Cheney Stadium for a Rainiers game last night. The niece Edie was there too, making great use of her clapping ability. She also discovered a benefit of back row seating- waving and waving (and waving and waving) at the guys in the booth just behind us. Happy to report they always waved back. ♦

Conk

“Double

Bean took me by the Kindness Trading Wall in Tacoma the other evening where love awaits to conk someone over the head. It was found among many other painted rocks- some humorous, some clever, the slightly novice mixed in with the more well crafted, and all an example of participation and effort. The bold pink underline rang out to me like a command: LOVE. So simple, just not always easy. Gonna keep trying, and you should too. ♦

Close Enough

“Solar

Chompin’ on Eclipse gum at the moment- treats from work for our eclipse-viewing shindig this morning. Glad to see so many posts where other companies provided viewing time, too. Turns out taking pics with these specs on is a comedy of errors, so Jen modeled while I shot. Check out the crescents captured in the trees and on the pavement. ♦

Tactile

“T-touch”

Celebrated a friend’s birthday today at the Bellevue Art Museum where all manner of gorgeous cut paper works were on display. Encased in glass- check. Stacked and layered from the floor up- check. Dangling from the ceiling- check. This is a shot of the interactive portion of the exhibit where these round little cubbies were filled with quilled paper strips by many a little kid’s hands, and it’s among my favorite pieces, go figure. ♦

Another Tree

“Up,

If you think I’m documenting trees, you could be right. I’ve found several in recent times that really cream my puff- scratch that- turn my channel. I love this birch in my sister’s front yard- the papery barky bits peeling themselves back to reveal portions of trunk call to me every time. ♦

Short Order

“Braised”

Look! Here’s some food! I eat out from time to time where wonderful things get delivered to my table like these short ribs at Toulouse Petit. That’s right, a blatant beefcake shot (much like a cheesecake shot, but no cheese and no cake). Happy little chives too. Personally, I enjoy when the lens begins to fog over from all the steamy heat rising off the plate- it’s telling me to hurry up and get back to it already. This was back in May, but I’m just now getting around to filing a backlog of images away for the keeping. ♦
