A CONVERSATION I

A conversation I had with a little girl years ago:

"How old are you?" asks the girl.

"34," I respond.

"So you were 33, now 34, then 35, 36, 37...

I brace myself for the words "Wow! You're almost 40!"

100!" she says. "You're almost to a HUNDRED!”

I’m even closer now.
