A FEW WEEKS

A few weeks back, my full-time design contract concluded after a year and some change, so I’m in search of a new design role in a market that’s a toughie. What does one do in the meantime?
Apparently, take a cruise! My generous aunt and uncle called me up while I was out gig-working to keep funds coming in to ask if I’d like to join them the very next day! (God, I see your undeserved goodness.)
Off to Alaska we were, my first cruise, on a behemoth of a ship at that, 20 decks, including four port stops and Glacier Bay. With a love for dichotomy, the extravagant interiors and commercial excess inside the ship were such a welcome contrast to the abundant natural beauty outside of it.
Finally got to see the northern lights with the naked eye after multiple past misses- an ethereal alien moving just out of reach throughout the sky on a whim all its own.
Amidst so much excitement, adventure, and available activity, human connection reigned above it all- cozy and fun memories made with family, random exchanges with fellow travelers, and the kindest staff imaginable.
